“Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father through him.” – Colossians 3.17.
I have felt the call of God in my life to plant a church for quite some time. As I look back over the last fifteen years, I can see His hand at work, leading me through a multitude of experiences in preparation of what He will do with my future. I believe the culmination of this call, in conjunction with the skills with which the Lord has equipped me, is to work with a passionate group of people who desire to see God glorified in their community through a new church plant.
Planting a church is more than just setting up chairs and hoping people come. It requires specific skills and knowledge of real life, and digital media platforms to get the word out. It takes technologic skills to build the digital infrastructure and manage human capital. It takes strong leadership. It takes vision and dedication. More importantly, it takes dependence on God. In addition to my skills as a strong leader, a dynamic communicator, and an effective preacher, I have been blessed with a wide range of experiences which have all equipped me in a unique way to lead a team of believers in the effort of planting a church. My past role as a staff member at a successful church plant in California shows a track record of effective ministry leadership combined with the ability to recruit, motivate, and retain strong teams of volunteers. Additionally, as a web-designer, IT administrator, and digital media marketer I have a proven ability to reach targeted communities with the messages they need to hear. All of these things have equipped me to glorify God and make disciples through a future church plant wherever God would call. My aim is to live out Colossians 3:17 in my daily life, and also in my calling to ministry. God’s glory is of the utmost importance. Jesus’ name must be loudly proclaimed. Our actions and our words, then should exemplify these truths. Now and forevermore let people proclaim, to God be the glory, great things He has done.
